Courier labels for New Zealand dispatch
100 x 150 mm direct thermal courier labels on 40 mm and 76 mm cores, stocked in bulk and dispatched same-day across New Zealand. They run in Zebra, TSC and Toshiba printers and are accepted by NZ Post / CourierPost, Aramex, NZ Couriers and Post Haste. Order before 2pm on a business day and it leaves the same day.
The standard NZ courier label: 100 x 150 mm
Every major New Zealand courier network prints to a 100 x 150 mm (4" x 6") label. It is direct thermal, so there is no ribbon — the print head darkens the facestock itself. You will also see the same label sold as 101 x 149 mm or 102 x 150 mm; those are rounding differences, not different products, and they load in the same printers.
What actually varies between suppliers is the adhesive and the liner. We stock a permanent acrylic adhesive that holds on satchels, cartons, shrink wrap and cold cartons out of a chiller, on a liner cut to run cleanly through desktop peelers without jamming.
Courier networks these labels work with
- NZ Post / CourierPost — standard 4" x 6" thermal labels, printed from your courier portal or shipping platform.
- Aramex (formerly Fastway) — 100 x 150 mm thermal rolls for satchel and parcel labels.
- NZ Couriers, Post Haste, Castle Parcels — Freightways networks all print to the same 4" x 6" format.
- GoSweetSpot, Starshipit, Shopify, Xero-linked dispatch — generate PDF or ZPL labels that print straight to a 100 x 150 mm roll.
One thing worth checking: print at 100% scale with page fitting turned off. Scaling a 4" x 6" PDF to A4 shrinks the barcode and is the single most common cause of a label that will not scan at the depot.
Printer and core sizes
- 40 mm core (desktop printers) — Zebra ZD220, ZD230, ZD420, ZD421; TSC TDP-225, TTP-244 Pro, TE210; Toshiba TEC desktop. Our 100 x 149 mm courier rolls hold 500 labels per roll on a 40 mm core; our 100 x 174 mm NZ Post rolls hold 375.
- 76 mm (3") core (industrial printers) — Zebra ZT230/ZT411, TSC MH241 and other industrial units. 1,000 labels per roll (100 x 149 mm) or 750 labels (100 x 174 mm) — fewer reloads.
- Not sure? Measure the cardboard tube from your last roll and tell us the printer model — we will match it rather than guess.
Who buys courier labels from us

Bulk supply, NZ-wide delivery
Courier labels are a consumable — when the roll runs out, dispatch stops. That is why we hold stock in Christchurch rather than drop-shipping offshore. Orders placed before 2pm on a business day dispatch the same day; most NZ addresses are overnight or next business day, and rural delivery adds a day plus a rural surcharge shown at checkout before you commit.
If you dispatch consistently, tell us your weekly volume and we will hold stock for you so a reorder is never a scramble. Email sales@servicelabels.co.nz or use the contact form.
Courier label questions
- What size courier label does NZ use?
- 100 x 150 mm (often written 4" x 6") is the standard courier label size in New Zealand and is accepted by NZ Post / CourierPost, Aramex, NZ Couriers, Post Haste and Castle Parcels. 101 x 149 mm and 102 x 150 mm rolls are the same label with rounding differences and work in the same printers.
- Do courier labels need a ribbon?
- No. Courier labels are direct thermal — the heat from the print head darkens the label itself, so there is no ribbon to buy or load. That is why dispatch teams use them: load the roll and print. The trade-off is that direct thermal fades with heat and sunlight, which does not matter for a label that is scanned within days.
- Will your courier labels work in my Zebra or TSC printer?
- Yes. Our courier rolls are supplied on 40 mm cores for desktop printers — Zebra ZD220/ZD230/ZD420, TSC TDP-225 and TTP-244 Pro, and Toshiba TEC desktop models — and on 76 mm (3") cores for industrial models. On a 40 mm core you get 500 labels per roll (100 x 149 mm) or 375 labels per roll (100 x 174 mm NZ Post format); on a 76 mm core, 1,000 or 750. Tell us your printer model and we will confirm the correct core before you order.
- Do the labels work with GoSweetSpot, Starshipit and Shopify shipping?
- Yes — those platforms generate a standard 4" x 6" PDF or ZPL label, which prints directly to a 100 x 150 mm thermal roll. Print at 100% scale with no page fitting so the barcode keeps its correct dimensions and scans first time.
- How fast is delivery across New Zealand?
- We hold courier rolls in stock in Christchurch and dispatch same-day on orders placed before 2pm on a business day. Most NZ addresses receive them overnight or next business day; rural addresses add a day plus a rural surcharge shown at checkout before you commit.
- How many labels are on a roll?
- On a 40 mm desktop core our courier rolls hold 500 labels (100 x 149 mm) or 375 labels (100 x 174 mm NZ Post format). On a 76 mm industrial core they hold 1,000 labels (100 x 149 mm) or 750 labels (100 x 174 mm). If you dispatch more than 200 parcels a day, the larger core saves reload time.
